Reduce Clutter And Increase Positive Energy

Sooner or later we all have to deal with it… clutter that is. It starts off small with a magazine left on the coffee table or a small trinket or watch left to rest on the wardrobe unit.

The problem with clutter is that it accumulates because small items often go unnoticed until there are a lot of them. By the time it hits you, you’ve got a lot of stuff to clean up and sometimes the job can seem impossible. That’s why you need an action plan to not only reduce the amount of clutter in your home but also to prevent it from building up in the first place.

My suggestion to you for tackling the initial purge of stuff you don’t need or at least want to remove from sight is to arm yourself with a few essential tools:

  • Trash bags
  • Cardboard boxes of varying sizes from small to large
  • An old hand towel (or paper towels) and some universal cleaner

The best thing to do is to toss old newspapers and magazines that you know will never be read again first. Follow up by tossing any other items that are either not working or never used. By purging the useless items quickly you will not only be done sooner but you’ll also get motivated to continue and finish the job!

A good rule to follow is to ask yourself “how many times have I used this item in the past Six (6) months?” and then “How many times do I plan to use this item in the next Six (6) months?” If the answer to one or both of these questions is Zero, then you should seriously consider getting rid of the item. If it is too valuable to simply throw out then you might want to consider giving it to someone or selling it on Ebay to reclaim a few dollars while you still can.

Remember, a clean and clutter free home will result in a more relaxing and satisfying environment. By keeping your space clutter free you can actually enjoy it. You will find that your home will be easier to clean and radiate with more positive energy than before.
